Re: pics of some 4 links please????
I have the SD super pivot 4-link kit. I like it, and I searched around and it was the better price. Not sure about the stepside part, I have a fleet.

I can't see your pics.
Don't see why it wouldn't fit. You can run your bars however you like to a certain extent. What do you think you will have problems with? |

Re: pics of some 4 links please????
Yea, I see your point, but I don't think they would. Couldn't they be notched a bit? They would be notch a little,if none, but it would be outta sight from the outside. I don't have a good pic but my beds off. My bars dont go up that high when laying out.
Any SD guys out there know anything on this? Someone has to know. Last edited by The Big Green; 05-03-2009 at 05:50 PM. |

Re: pics of some 4 links please????
My friends truck was just 2-linked, but nothing hit. If you put your lower bars in the same place you shouldn't have any clearance issues.

Re: pics of some 4 links please????
I have mine on the outside and I'm going to run a 12in deep dish wheel plenty of room still. IMO keeping everything inside the frame is a little superfluous.

what offset and width rim? look at twisted's pictures. that truck looks great but look how close the bag is to that tire and that tire isn't that big or wide and that rim barely has any lip. it wouldn't simply work in my application. and imo all the bars on the inside, as long as physically possible, looks much better then you bar missing your tire by a half inch.

Re: pics of some 4 links please????
That bag was actually about 3 inches away from the tire. And the wheel was 8.5" wide I think. It looked sucked in too far when behind the truck, and he was going to swap to an ~11" wide wheel, but it would put the tire too close to the bodyline on the fender. There is probably enough room to put the bag on the outside of the frame and run a 11-12" wide wheel, especially if you put your mounts further forward than stock and run a longer link setup. Then you could also move the bag further from the tire. These trucks have a narrow frame to begin with. Putting the link bars inside the frame, with bags on them basically puts the bag very narrow on the axle, which means you will accentuate body roll since there is more leverage on the axle. Also in high HP applications you will likely experience torque steer due to the narrow link bar placement and the axle tubes flexing.

Re: pics of some 4 links please????
My bars are 31inches if I remember right, and my bags are far enough forward that a huge diameter tires would still be far from the bag mounts. My wheels are 8.5, and when the beds on, should be a good couple of inches in. I can easily run a 12in wheel.
