Jimmy as my DD

So the A/C has been out in my DD Silverado since the end of last summer. I finally got fed up and took in and had it all redone. Shop said it would be 2-3 days so I decided instead of renting/borrowing a vehicle, I'd just take the Jimmy to work. I've had the Jimmy about 3 years and have driven it only a handful of times around the block. for the most part it has sat awaiting restoration in my garage.

So I gave it a good once over. Found only one bolt of the 3 on the torque converter.
Then charged the battery, replaced the alternator, fuel filter & rubber lines, PCV valve, checked the brake fluid level, radiator, and tires. It fired right up. (I had already replaced the fuel pump and starter the week I got the truck). No reverse, so I pushed it out of the garage. Checked tranny fluid and it was LOW. Added 2 1/2 quarts before it even registered, then topped it off. Shifted perfect.

So 3 days, topless, 96* and humid all three days. Over 100 miles a day. I work out of my truck and its 30 miles each way not including the constant start/stop of checking my jobs all day. Ran perfect the whole time!!
Even the "hot start" problems were minimal. Pee'd a little antifreeze at the beginning from the hose @ the cap, but then nothing. So probably a little overfull?

Anyways just rambling and thought I'd share. Of course now it's almost too hot already to go topless!!! But I need to be driving this more (just not to work) Sure was nice to get the silverado back with COLD A/C!

Here's a pic of the Jimmy at an old gas station.

Dude, I'm so jealous. The jimmy looks great. Now that yours runs great you'll have to come down to S.A. to visit. Glad to see you are driving it more. Later dude. Mario

Looks better in the pictures but thanks. Found one of my front shocks lost a lower bolt too. I thought it felt a little bouncey. Yeah Mario, I took your advice, since I'm not working on it, drive it.
