on my 88 crew cab the ECM side of the wire harness has been cut up, replaced,add, burned,and what ever eles could happen to it over the years. so I'm thinking about replacing it does any one know where I can get that part of the harness? basicly from the ECM to all the sensors and TBI? and no LMC dosnt have it and I tried the gm dealer. ive done a little digging to find one but I'm starting to wonder if I'd be better off having one made from an outfit like ron frances or painless? I'd really like it to be a plug n play type of swap

ive heard great things about painless wiring harnesses but perhaps you could try our site vendors first. ive never had to buy a harness so i dont even know if they sell such things

If you are just trying to keep it stock, but replace a butchered harness you should be able to find that part of the harness for a decent price.

I *THINK* that part of the harness stands alone. The part of the harness that goes to the starter, alternator, etc, is one part. The part that goes to all the sensors, ECM, TBI, etc is another.

There is a guy over in Sammamish/Issaquah that parts lots of 89-91 Suburbans. If you go on CL and search for Suburban or k5 he always has a few ads running.

old rusty I looked through the venders but I didn't see anything so I was hoping one would bite

kevinr I've seen that guys adds I'm thinking I'd like new just because all the weather pac conectors won't be all dried up from the heat and aged and if you pull one off a parts truck you might find a suprise in it that makes it just as bad as the one you pulled off that and I'm thinking I want to drive this thing for another 20+ years and it'd be nice to start with something new on it

that is obviously a fuelie, so scarcer. i'd ck w/ dealer (if yours is still a GM dealer) and see what they have. i bought one for an 88 iR series one ton in about 95 or so. took 2 or 3 hours to install. easy greasy.....

If I had to choose new harness for TBI conversion there are couple of sources worth looking into:

Painless wiring 60101
Ron Frances TH-60
Affordable Fuel Injection
Speed scene wiring TBI199091SSW

and my favorite is:
