All Chevy V8 fireing orders are the same. 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. Hope that helps, jim

1984 K20 350M engine with 465,000 miles. Well, it's finally done!! Almost 2 years of work, but it was really worth the effort. Little stuff left to do is mount winch, wet sand & buff out and build belly pan\running boards. Body work takes lots and LOTS of beer!!!! The worst thing you could do is get into my sights, but that don't matter, you'll never know it, cause you'll never hear the shot  Jim or Paladin whichever you choose.

i didnt see any marking on the dist. cap for the #1 spot thought i had did it right now truck wont start. do you know which post on cap is #1???

Pull the sparkplug out of the #1 cylinder. Hold you finger over the hole while you have someone "bump" the engine over slowly. (or you can turn it by hand from the crank bolt) When you feel the pressure pushing against your finger stop. Then turn the engine by hand until the timing mark lines up on the balancer. Be sure the key is turned off, then take the cap off of the distributor. Your rotor is now pointed toward the #1 terminal. Start your plug wires from there...as James McClure said 18436572

I agree with Longhair on this.
Also more times than not you will find that the rotor will be pointing at the #1 cylinder (Drivers side front) on the engine Your Cylinders are located 1-3-5-7 on the drivers side front to rear and 2-4-6-8 front to rear on the passengers side.
