unattainable/hard to get parts for suburban
Sorry for the newbie question. This probably very common knowledge, just not to me.
I am restoring a rx2. The parts for it are almost impossible to get. I always envied my mustang/camaro/chevelle friends. I thought for a popular truck like the 67-72 suburban I would be able to get almost any part from a catalog or least it would still be easy to get from a wrecking yard. This post about someone stealing a rear hatch on a suburban and hard it is to the part made me want to start this thread. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=341486 So, please tell me which parts are almost impossible to get. thank you. Rear hatches that arent rusty, top bows for the headliner, rear seat hold downs and possibly some of the rear air stuff. Everything from the back of the front seat forward interchanges with the trucks.

That's it? Wow, that is great! I can always pay some interior guy to fab something up. I am not sure what rear hold downs look like but i would imagine some local welder could make something to hold the seats or seat belts in place. I just ebay again for rx2 parts. The only good thing is a gauge cluster, everything is pendant charms, stickers or emblems ![]() Maybe I just just be JB weld my windshield to my car ![]() |

Re: unattainable/hard to get parts for suburban
like any lower production vehicle, a bunch of the burb specific parts will be a little tough to locate. Many trim pieces, and inside parts can be a pain to locate. But as far as hard parts, mechanicals and the like, stuff isn't TOO hard... just try not to get a total clapped out POS to start off with.
