seat swap in 1989 burb

Hey all!

New to site, but had burbs for years. Curious to see what front seats you all have in your trucks? I am looking to swap in some heated leathers, but I don't know which ones would fit the best. Any suggestions. I am also looking into captains chairs for the second row seating. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Re: seat swap in 1989 burb

there are tons of wadded up 96-99 tahoes and burbs laying around w/ heated captians. they usually need a panel replced on the drivers side and sometimes the heating elemnets are bad. the electrics on them are all self contained so you just need a hot wire. may need some bracket mods, but 2 sets should work for front and back. good luck

Re: seat swap in 1989 burb

Just to jump in to this one...what seats will bolt straight in to an '85 'Burb with no mods? I'm looking for a straight swap to upgrade so it would be nice to know what makes/models I should be looking for when I hit the junkyard.

FWIW, I've seen on other boards some guys talking about seats from the Cadillac CTS.

I would think the CTS seats would not bolt right in, I would look for a newer burb seat, they did make this up to 91.

the 92-99 second row seats bolt right into the second row of the 73-91? I take it that is what you are saying? are they captains' chairs?

Re: seat swap in 1989 burb

i was hoping all 3 rows were a bolt in but I'm happy to hear the 2nd row is cause making the fold down 2nd row mod's would be a pain
