6lug to 5lug
i am switching form 6lug to five lug and was wondering is there any big problem with just redrilling the rear axles to 5 on 5 any help thanks

Not sure how far away you are but Dutchman Bros in Portland does that stuff. They converted a Ford 9 inch to Chevy for my 68 Camaro.....pretty cheap too!

What he means is that the center of the axle has a "hub". Most wheel manufacturers will make the centers of their wheels large enough to fit most makes but within that original bolt pattern which would be 6 on 5.5. You are trying to go to 5 on 5 so everything is a little smaller and the wheel has to go over the hub. I'm not sure if these truck do cause I'm still somewhat new to the truck thing but a lot of cars have the wheel center the EXACT same size as the axle so the weight of the wheel and vehicle rides on the hub instead of the lug studs. It's called "hubcentric". Since your axle hub will remain the same, even though you are changing the bolt pattern, most wheels won't go over the hub. This is why most people don't redrill these types of applications....they buy new 5 on 5 axles. Dutchman sells those too.

You can also pick up new 5 lug axles from ECE (Early Classic Enterprises).

You know what....I'm not sure why I called it Dutchman Bros. It's Dutchman Motorsports. The link is below. I called them up and when I told them you were from Washington.....they hung up the phone!!!
