When I got my truck 15 years ago it was a mutt. Body, chassis, engine, tranny, everything - including engine pulleys - were from different trucks.
I was constantly messing around with broken alternator mount bolts and alternator mount arms. I finally got a complete set off of a known factory configuration. That solved ALL my problems. I would look in the parts section for a complete set, swap them all, and never look back. I would NOT mess with spacing them out with spacers or washers.
