1994 Chevy donor truck
I have a 350 in my 66 and have a chance to pick up a 1994 chevy 3500 with 150K for a few hundred bucks. I have looked at it and I am thinking of using the alt, p/s pump, a/c and all the pulleys, brackets and what not to change my truck to a serpentine belt system.
Will this fit on my truck? Can I block the a/c lines somehow so the compressor dosent go bad until I can afford the rest of the stuff needed for a/c? Is this one of the years that the seat will swap into my truck pretty eaisly? Sorry for so many questions but thanks for the help. |

The seats will almost always go in easily. You just might have to do some filling and also some drilling. Beside's the seats though, I'm honestly not sure.

Re: 1994 Chevy donor truck
The serp. setup works great in those trucks. The only thing is that it uses a long water pump instead of the short that came on your truck. You will need to use the fan also. Duct tape over the holes in the compressor and it will work fine when you get around to putting A/C on your truck. Nothing comes out of the lines unless the clutch is activated. Good luck with your swap. Save the 4L80e transmisson for a later swap.

Re: 1994 Chevy donor truck
You'll want to be sure to use a long water pump for a serpentine setup since they are reverse rotation. Use the one off of the '94 , or a rebuilt one for that truck.

Re: 1994 Chevy donor truck
Thanks for the help. I swapped my running gear from a 78 chevy back in 1998 but I know this truck has a reman transmission from GM that the local dealer installed a year ago. Not sure if I want to go through all the work to swap running gear again. Will the trans bolt right up to a NP203 transfer case?
Thanks again |

Re: 1994 Chevy donor truck
I believe the output on the 4L60E trans is the same as a TH350, so it should be doable. Are you swapping the 350TBI engine as well? You do realize that the 4L60E is controlled by the ECM?
