Aftermarket Steering Wheel

Hey Guys,

I've been looking through all the aftermarket steering wheels out there for the past few weeks and I really like the Grant LeMans 1071 wheel. I believe LMC sells this as well.

Couple of questions:

1) Anything special for the horn to work in these? The LMC catalog, if I remember correctly, said the center cap was for aesthetics. Horns are required in Texas, so anything I get will have to have the ability to add the horn.

2) Any other mahogany/billet wheels out there you guys like? Always worried I might miss something!

3) Any precautions I should know about up front? Want to makes sure I'm prepared.

Re: Aftermarket Steering Wheel

I had a LeCarra wheel in my 87. I really liked it. The adapter kit will have the horn button and everything you will need.

For a little different, but factory look, how about one of these? : http://www.opgi.com/product.asp?topc...589&yearrange=

Re: Aftermarket Steering Wheel

That wheel looks good Bruthaman. I agree as stated above Grant, and other wheel companies have the mounting kits and horn setups for you. The LMC may have just been talking about the horn button that was on the wheel in the catalog. Meaning that you could change the button if needed. Keep us updated on what you get!
