cant get my ignition lock off my switch - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

ive tried the paperclip, idk ifim doing it wrong, does anyone have any in depth details, i dont have the key for the lock thats in it now but its jammed open so i just used to use a screwdriver to start it, any ideas on how to get this out cuz i got my new lock cylinder, thanks guys

Turn the switch to accessory position and try it. Maybe use something a little heavier to push the release pin.

i cant even find the pin, i didnt know we had acc either, which direction is it from off?

Accessory would be to the left of the off position. Is there a little pin to the left of the key slot?

2 little holes, cant turn it to the left of off either

Oops, to the right of the key slot. I'm quite sure that you have to switch to acc position first and then a little more left when you feel the pin go in and the cylinder should pull out. Maybe because you don't have a key, the switch won't go left, try kinda wiggling it.

My wife lost my key ( should have made that extra when i had a chance ) and i cound NOT get the center section out at all. With that said i bought the inner and outer parts put it togther and it works like a champ. And i now have an extra key.
