New Printed Circuit Needed?
I own a 79 C-10 that currently has only the fuel level & speedometer gauges... nothing else. I'm going to switch over to a full set of AutoMeter gauges which include an in-dash speedo & tach, as well as water temp, oil pressure, volts, fuel level, trans temp, & clock.
Will I need to change my printed circuit to a different circuit that was used for models with gauges & tach? Or can I use the same one, since I'm using aftermarket gauges? All gauges are electric, except the speedometer, which is mechanical. I know I can get a new printed circuit from LMC if necessary. As always, thanks for the info! |

Re: New Printed Circuit Needed?
you dont need a circuit at all. to my knowledge when you take the old gauge cluster out its once piece but since the autometers are individual gauges you dont need any of that stuff, they just wire up to the senders theyre for. and make sure your getting the sending unit for the speedometer that changes the gear from mechanical to electrical it supposedly works way better and can be calibrated by you instead of having to change out gears when you get different tire or wheel size. i believe its part number atm-5291 or the summit brand which is G2887-1. I plan on doing the same thing since most of my gauges dont work. a local speed shop told me that everything should be electric except oil PSI and water Temp because the mechanical work better. hope this helps
