pic's of power steering set up's

Does anyone have any pic's of power steering set up's for a 230 L6. My truck is a 65 GMC but Chevy's are the same so if you have some could you please post them? I used the search but came up empty. Thanks Vernski

Re: pic's of power steering set up's

I just found a bracket on E-bay but do not have it installed yet. I think there might be a missing piece and could use pictures also. I am glad somebody else is gonna stay with the I-6!! I looked all over for this bracket, finally found it off a 70 Camaro.

Re: pic's of power steering set up's

Hi Bubba thanks for the heads up and welcome. Well I bought a set of bracket and braces off ebay also and when I went to put them on nothing will fit. Well I got leperconned as in bend over buddy,[no offence if your Irish] but they were advertized as fitting a 230 L6. I hope you faired better than i did on ebay. Well I just needed some pic's to see if I'm headed in the right direction. I'm going to fab my own bracket if I can get an idea where they bolt up on a 230. That said I hope we can get some pic's to see how it should be. By the way where is Star at in Idaho I'm 8mi nw of CDA Thanks Vernski

Re: pic's of power steering set up's

great thread, now we need some pics. I'm starting this project on my 1966 C10, except i have a 305 sb. So I have to go junk yard hooping tomarrow to try and find my brackets. I have a 1986 power steering box and drag link. I'm hoping this will come close to fitting on my 1966 frame. I find find out more tomarrow.

I have the correct bracket off a 250 I-6 camaro. It has been cut a little for header clearance. (No trouble to weld a piece back in) I found a E-Bay seller 's listing for the headers and sent a pm to him asking about the bracket and scored. I had been looking on the chevelle forums, nova -forums, H.A.M.B. the inliners etc (After looking here on the 60-66 boards first) Nothing in the local junk yards. Beginning to think I might have to fab my own. Planning on using a nova pump. I can send a pic tomorrow if you need.

Those bolt on pulleys look like the ones for a small block with a short water pump. Which balancer do you guys have?

Hi John my balancer is a single pulley and has bolt holes I for either a pulley puller or I guess you could bolt another pulley to it. I have no idea what the norm is for these engines but it is a 230.---Vernski

I already have a double pulley set up on both crank and water pump . Hoped to get to the pump today but worked on the tilt column instead.

So does your balancer have the pulley built in or is it seperate?

It looks like it's one piece, so I assume you can bolt another pulley to it? Or do I have to get another one? Also where can I find either? Thanks---Vernski

If it is the same crank pulley as a small block with a short water pump, I have a couple. I don't have anything for the water pump pulley though.

Yeah printing them is no problem. I haven't had time to figure out how to reduce the file size to email them.....I'm not quite that computer savy yet. I'll print another set right now.
