Ok so I got everything off except the parking brake assembly/cable and I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it out - there are two bolts holding the pedal assembly to the firewall, and the cable which travels through the firewall also. Took the nuts off the two bolts and it look like it needs to pull out towards the rear of the truck but I just can't get it....any advice?

To spread the bracket just put two screwdrivers in and pry in opposite directions and it'll open up. I then bent it slightly closed to hold it to the cable so I wouldn't lose it
