Where is switch for reverse lights?
I have a 1970 C10 with a 250ci six and three on the tree? Anyone know where the switch is for the reverse lights (back up lamps)? Is it on transmission or maybe the steering column?
thanks Mark |

Re: Where is switch for reverse lights?
Three on the tree as in manual trans should be on the tranny.

Re: Where is switch for reverse lights?
Mines on the lower part of the column.IIRC it is on top where it's hard to see or get to.If the lights aren't working try adjusting it first. It adjusts by loosening the bolts and sliding it slightly. You need to have the key on and the tranny in reverse. Then when they light the adjustment should be good.Tighten the bolts and shift out to be sure they go off before putting the tools away.If this doesn't work try jumping the two wires going to it.Then you can be pretty sure the switch isn't causing the problem. It's a fun position to get into so be sure and take everything with you the first time.

Re: Where is switch for reverse lights?
my 67 3spd on the column has the switch on the steering column , it is factory because I ordered a new one at NAPA but when I took it apart the only thing wrong with my old one was it had the little tab broke off , I put the tab back on with JB WELD in 06 and it has worked fine since ,,

Re: Where is switch for reverse lights?
The way you wrote this leads me to believe that when you back up in a forward gear the backup lights do come on...
