just got a great deal ona set of 20x8.5" coys.. the fronts are about fine, but the rears sit about 3" too far in. I was told my truck has a suburban rearend, but I can't confirm that. Is it normal on a 83 swb for the rears to sit in? I don't know if 3" spacers are the best idea to use, not sure if they are safe or not so I'm trying to see what my options are.

So basically, is it normal for the rear wheels to sit that far in? or does my mutt have a different rear axle in it? thanks!

the front has a wider track than the rear from the factory

sounds to me they got the offset wrong.... they will be different from front to back. If you got them new I'd talk to coys about the problem. IMO 3 inch spacers would be a bad idea.

88-98 fullsize rearend will solve the width issue. that or send the wheels back for differnet offset.

I had the same issues with my Suburban. I used some 1.5" wheel spacers on my rear wheels. They've been on there for a year & a half with no problems. I will be going to 22s in the rear later with an offset that will make it so I don't need wheel spacers.

I got thewheels on craigslist. too good of a deal to pass up, so I'm gonna make it work. may just order 20x10's for the rear...but i would like to even find a rear end with rear disc brakes

No he would not. He would need an adjustable proportioning valve but the stock MC would work.

No, the 88-98 rearend won't just bolt in. You will have to cut off the stock perches and shock mounts and relocate them to the appropriate width for your box.

On another note, have you confirmed that all of the wheels have the same offset? Perhaps you have them on the wrong "end". Just a thought...

yea. second that. just have to relocate the mounts. pretty straight forward. and on the master cylinder.. Im not sure. if N2Trux says it its gospel! lol
