Not the symptoms he is describing, but will a broken sun shell cause 2nd and 3rd to go away? Like when it shifts out of first, it's in neutral. When the rpms go back down, first will catch again.

Sounds like you might have forgotten to put the rock under the accelerator. J/K, I hope you get it fixed.
