Chassis Paint

Hey Guys, I'm trying to figure out which paint I should use on my frame, suspension, and rear end. I'm looking at POR-15, the Eastwood Extreme Chassis black, or Summit has a chassis paint. Anyone have any strong opinions on the above?

Most automotive lines have a "chassis black" or "rally black" that are single stage urethanes, extremely durable, and give a semi gloss finish. You can get custom colors mixed in an appropriate single stage too.
Have your frame sandblasted, prime with an epoxy primer, and paint.

I have not used POR, but understand it is great on a rusty piece, so that is an option if you can't chemically(dip) or mechanically(media blast) strip the chassis first.

I just did mine with Sikkens Epoxy Primer and Rallye Black.

I used POR-15 on my current truck and wouldn't use it again. It was prepped as suggested back when, but it hasn't held up that well showing quite a few rust pits here and there. My previous ride was a 46 Ford sedan. I coated the chassis with the rust converter that Eastwood now sells, followed by hardened acrylic enamel and it looked like new after 8 years and 300,000 miles. If I were doing my truck over today I would probably do the chassis with Zero Rust (assuming it's for a driver vehicle).

It dosent hold up well to scratches even when prepped as recomended.
Dont be a cheapo get it powder coated.

I am going the spraybomb route, as I am not doing a frame off, yet, I just want a clean driver, used the rustoleum black rust converting primer, and their satin black wheel paint. Down the road after I finish my 68 firebird resto, and my 66 tempest resto, then I will do the 63 C10 and go the powder coat route.

Powder coat on a show truck. Epoxy primer on a nice driver.

We used KBS on the chassis of my 66. It is similar to por 15 and I was told KBS was formed by the lead chemist and marketing guy for Por and it is suposed to be better. I use single stage black.....
Looks as good as powder, but can be touched up/modified.
