Hubcap identification help
I have a 66 long bed that has two different styled hubcaps from the 60's. Can anyone post a picture of the types used for the 60's trucks so I can know which I have and what I need?.............Kirby

Re: Hubcap identification help
the first is 57-60, the second is 64-66, I don't have a pic of the 61-63.
the easiest is if you could post up pics of what you have,we could probably tell you. |

Re: Hubcap identification help
Thanks for the reply my caps look like the 64-66 chrome ones in the second picture but mine are painted white. The difference seems to be that some of the hubcaps have a raised area around the triangles and some don't and need to know which are which year? I personally like the painted ones better.............Kirby

Re: Hubcap identification help
If no one else chimes in, try sending a pm to lilred66, he is probably the authority on 456's, I wasn't aware of any differences on the 64-65-66 hubcaps other than the chrome,or white. also the 3/4 ton caps I think were clip on instead of snap on like the 1/2.

Re: Hubcap identification help
how interesting... I just checked out the caps on my 65, I picked the best 4 off of 2 sets of caps from 2 66's that I have, and 3 of the caps have the ridge/outline around the shapes, and the 4th is flat....
I will have to check out the other 4 caps I have and see what they look like. funny that I never noticed this before. |

Re: Hubcap identification help
Check out page 3 "1966 Chevy 4x4 help", I posted a 1966 hubcap. Many people dont know that the 64-65 hubcap is not reproduced, only the 66 hubcap is reproduced. The 64-66 have smooth surface while the 66 has reiforcement ridges for strength. It was found that the 64-65 caps dented way to easily and the 66 cap was an improvement.

Re: Hubcap identification help
there is the answer. I was hoping you would chime in.
funny thing, my 64-5 hubcap is perfect, and the 3 66's are all dented up to some extent |

Re: Hubcap identification help
Anyone know of a good source for a set of 1963's that aren't made out of unobtainium? I have been looking for a looooooooooooong time for a decent set
