Re: cheap mufflers
I'm not ceratin who makes the mufflers for Summit. I do remember reading an article that said the Summit house brand parts were made by name brand manufacturers though.

Re: cheap mufflers
if on a budget why spend for shipping? go to local autoparts store and ask for a muffler

Re: cheap mufflers
Go ahead and take it one step further. Why buy mufflers when you can just wear ear plugs?? A box of 100 is only $5.99.
Most auto parts store will have a cheap muffler that you can throw on, but it sounds like you might need a section of pipe also.

Re: cheap mufflers
I have some Summit Mufflers on my rig, I think they sound great. They don't sound like glasspacks but they do have a very nice growl to them.

Re: cheap mufflers
I ran a set of ghetto Thrush turbo mufflers on a Chevelle small block. They cost me $14 a piece (many years ago), sounded OK, and lasted for 10 YEARS!! I had a Flowmaster that cost me $70 that crapped out in 3 years! Oh, and as stated above, a lot of parts stores sell the Thrush mufflers... or at least they try to. Good luck!
