Re: OEM in bed spare carrier
That one is just like the one I am using now, it sticks out way to far. I myself don't believe that is what was originally used. Its correct for the under bed carrier though.

Re: OEM in bed spare carrier
If you notice the person in the auction mentions to "cut to length as required". I guess the person could be reading this post and is trying to sucker someone in. Although I doubt it. Because of the way the head fits into the opening on the in-bed carrier, I'm thinking it may require that the bolt be cut.

Re: OEM in bed spare carrier
You may be right, the guy on the assembly line might have walked over to the bench put the bolt in a vice, grabbed a hacksaw and cut it off to the proper length.

Re: OEM in bed spare carrier
I will also note that the bolt goes though the flat side of the bracket, not the slotted side, (see post 3) if you use the ebay bolt it will just spin. It was some kind of carriage bolt originally.

Re: OEM in bed spare carrier
Would these have been used for wood and metal beds?
I have one on my SWB wood bed I was going to sell. Now I think it needs to be mounted to my SWB metal floor bed.

Re: OEM in bed spare carrier
Mine was mounted in a steel floor bed. I don't see why it wouldn't work in a wood floor also.
