Column mod
Bessie has the factory "school bus" steering wheel which makes the space between the seat and wheel kinda tight for my 400lb girlish figure.... So as to keep with the cheap theme I found Putters FAQ on the column mod and thought I'd give it a shot. Man what a difference a couple inches can make....No more tummy rubbin the wheel and its free...my favorite type of mod...LOL

Re: Column mod
I can see the two-three inch difference. What did you do?
Loosen the bracket and push it in some?

Re: Column mod
I'm only 210 pounds, and this mod is one of the absolute best things you can do.... a tilt tossed in at the same time makes the improvement 2 fold

Did you have to relocate the neutral switch?

Re: Column mod
I think you do if you have an automatic. I tried it on my '67, but it also lowered the height of the wheel, and without a tilt, it felt akward to drive, so I changed steering wheels and left it at the stock length. BTW, I'm around 200 lb as well, about 6' tall.
