Dave you are having a time of that gv install. One thing calls for another it seems. I feel sure once you get used to it you will see some better mpg numbers. I'd hate to spend those bucks and not get some real improvements out of it. I see you've extended the carrier bearing mount back some 11". It is thick flat stock but do you see it maybe moving up and down some under load and working loose?

just a normal project for me lol. i am happy with the gv so far, i can not say just how thrilled i am when on the highway. my motor is not screaming at me. it well worth the money for that. mpg gains will be a bounus.

as far as the plate, its a thick solid plate, no way that suckers moving. i can hang off it. though i do plan on checking all those bolts often.

I would think that having the motor no longer screaming at highway speeds makes it all worth it, even if the mpg's aren't greatly improved.

That's the logic I applied when I had my 700r installed

And if this were easy and cheap, everybody would be doing it... And what fun is that?
