I used both the brown wire and the blue wire to wire the two wires that are needed for the AMP gauge to work. I traced the wires back with another harness(with gauges) unwrapped to locate the exact positon. I can not remember if the pin location on the fuse box is open (missing a wire from the alt) when you add a lamp and engine harness with gauges. If I remember correctly, I pushed out the wires on the fuse block and matched the location on the gauge dash harness with gauges to add the blk and bw wires (using the two I removed ) to make the amp gauge work.

Remember to double check everything to make sure the pin locations are correct on the dash and firewall side. I used new repro dash and engine harnesses with gauges so the need for the fuse is on the wires as a fuseable link.
