Hello from Osaka, Japan

Hello everyone,

My name is Mike and I currently live in Osaka, but just bought a 71 K5 Blazer that is parked at my brothers' home in Sandpoint, Idaho. It needs some work but is in fairly original condition. I am the third owner, it has been a tow/work truck all its life and needs some TLC. Sorry about the picture quality, my brother who is legally blind took them! The cattle/hitch/brush gaurd is the first thing to go! I look forward to using the archives and speaking with all of you.

Arigato Gozaimasu,

Mike

Nice looking Blazer. Welcome to the board. How much longer you have in Osaka?

I loved my 10 years in Japan (Misawa for me)

Looks like you will lighten that thing up by a ton or so taking that guard off... grin.

Welcome aboard from Northern California!

Re: Hello from Osaka, Japan

Thanks for the greetings guys! I plan to be in Japan until September 2010, but things can change, maybe the US economy will turn, exchange rate favors me at the moment. I teach English, but I am also working on an MBA.

A quick question on the Blazers, the lower body area between the passenger doors edge and the rear wheel arch's is called what? Rocker panel? You can see on my Blazer some surface rust in each. Where can I find these panels and what do I call them so I get the right replacements?

Thanks again,

Mike
