Radiator Question
I have a '76 K20 that I'm puting an engine in for a winter driver. The truck didn't have a radiator when I got it. I have a new 3 core radiator that I got in another deal that has a 26 3/8" wide core, but it is 21" tall. The core support has locations for the rubber cushions in the 26 3/8" position, but will I be able to find a hold down/ cover for the top? I'm thinking that I'll have to fab up one to make this radiator work, but thought I'd ask if there is a factory application with this size radiator.

Re: Radiator Question
I don't know the measurements, but there are two sizes of radiators for your truck. It sounds like you have the standard cooling radiator. The HD cooling bracket mounts flush with the top of the radiator support. The standard cooling upper bracket mounts to the backside of the support, and makes a 90 degree turn about 4-5 inches down. I hope that makes sense. IIRC, the HD radiator mounts are a little further apart at the bottom, too.

Re: Radiator Question
I don't know if this will help.
This is on my '73, I didn't get a measurement on the rad height, but I want to say about 18" (frost and bare feet don't let me out there too long)

Re: Radiator Question
Thanks for the replies guys
I guess I shoould have been a little more specific in my post. I am aware of the two basic styles of radiator hold downs/covers for the two different heights of radiators. In my experience the hold downs for the tall radiators (the flat one) are typically for the 28 3/8" wide core. What I was wondering was is there a hold down for a tall radiator (flat one) for a 26 3/8" core, which is what radiator I have. If there isn't a factory piece like that, I'll just take a wide one and modify it to work with this radiator.
