Good 2WD shocks
So I replaced all my shocks on my '67 C20 with the HD shocks from LMC and I'm really not happy with how soft they are. I go over a speed bump and bounce like crazy. Is there a brand or style that would give more damping or a more 'modern' ride?
Thanks! |

Re: Good 2WD shocks
I'm just spouting off without knowing a whole lot about suspension for these trucks, but I'm pretty sure the only way you're going to get a modern ride is to get a modern truck or put some major bucks into the suspension. You're talking about a truck (that was built to work) with 1967 technology. It's gonna be bouncy unless you fill up the bed with some weight.

Re: Good 2WD shocks
I use KYB GasAdjust's and I don't get any bounce at all. Been very happy with them.

Re: Good 2WD shocks
Summit brand sport truck shocks are very nice. They are Doestch Tech units in a generic Summit box. I have run them on several trucks over the years.

Re: Good 2WD shocks
I looked for Edelbrock and they didn't have a listing for my truck.
I'll check out Summit and KYB. Thanks guys! |

Re: Good 2WD shocks
Tx Firefighter ... Makes a very good point. Summit private lables a lot of stuff which means you get the Summitt name but get a name brand part for a lot less.

Re: Good 2WD shocks
So I looked at Summit and if I put in my info, '67 c20 coil spring, they don't have a shock. Do you happen to have a P/N that will work?

Re: Good 2WD shocks
I've had those on my K20 for years and am also happy with them... put the same ones on our '95 Grand Cherokee when the oem shocks went soft.

Re: Good 2WD shocks
As an update, I put KYB Monomax on the front and KYB GAs-A-Just on the rear. It has completely transformed the truck! Rides great now! I would very strongly caution against buying the HD shocks from LMC.
