A couple rear suspension questions

Do I need to relocate my rear shocks if I drop 2.5 to 3 inches?

How much difference is there between 'HD rear coil springs' and normal, or non-HD coils? My Panel came with only 2 options, HD fronts and HD rears. I want to drop a little, but would like a little softer ride, too. I can't decide between a static drop or bags. As it is, even the 2 inch lip pulling into my shop will cause everything that's not bolted down to jump up into the air. It's almost like no spring at all, just a solid bar.

Re: A couple rear suspension questions

It's not necessary to relocate the shocks w/<3" drop but it wouldn't hurt either. You could do non-HD coils up front & bags in the rear for a compromise that allows the capacity of the HD springs w/the ride of the non-HD springs.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

Re: A couple rear suspension questions

Thanks, SCOTI. I did go with standard coils in the front, with 2.5 drop spindles. If relocating the shocks, do I need to get special shocks? Oh-one more question-can I just use the lower shock relocator, or if I go that route do I need to relocate top and bottom? I really hate drilling out rivits.

I modify the stock brackets much like what's available aftermarket....

On mine, I get about 1.5" on each end that's modified. I would guess (educated @ that) the aftermarket would yield similar benefits.
