Anyone ever repaired one of these?
Probably hard to tell but its a hole in the firewall under the hood and cowl area.
Leaves....years and years of leaves. Oh and here is what I'm working with. Its got some rocker and cab corner rust too but I've seen it done on here enough to have an idea of what to do. |

Re: Anyone ever repaired one of these?
Yeah, I fixed the one on my 70. Once you get the heater box off you will get a better idea how bad it is. I cut out the section then put POR-15 on the inside all the way down to the vent boxes. Then I MIG welded a patch in and ground it down. Not too bad really you just have to tackle it. You cant really tell that I fixed mine. Mine was from a ILL placed antenna wire.

This is where the cowl trash gaurds really prove themselves. They do a hell of a job keeping wet leaves out of the fresh air intake.

bradford, take your glove box out and look under the dash. you should be able to see the backside of this area, were it is pieced. im fixing this area on my cab now and the factory seam seal at the joint is long gone and replaced with rust. its not that bad just a tight place to get into.

I've never had to repair one but I need to pull my cowl cover off this weekend and clean out all of the leave and trash. Airflow through my heater is not the best at the moment.
