Still having electrical issues
I solved my alternator problem today. I had two wires switched in my main harness plug. Now I have a good charge and no gen light. Yeah!!
But, I don't have any bright lights. I have dims, and my bright light indicator comes on when I hit the dimmer switch, so I don't think it is in the switch. I don't have 12 volts at the light plug at the radiator support. Also don't have any voltage on the light green wire at the plug that goes thru the firewall. I am looking at the wires under the dash and it appears the wires go thru the fuse panel, but aren't fused. Is that correct?

Re: Still having electrical issues
Had 12 volts on both sides of dimmer switch. I guess I could just run a wire from dimmer to headlights to check wiring in between.

Re: Still having electrical issues
Three things come to mind: bad grounds, or as it was in my case, the main harnnes plug , the one that conects to the fire wall.
I cleaned mine up and solved my no hiigh beam problem , after changing out the dimmer. or the plug that conects to the rad support keep us posted

Re: Still having electrical issues
Even though mine is new, I continue to have some issues with the plug at the firewall. I ran a new 14 ga. wire from the dimmer switch to the light plug at front and all works well now. I had to wiggle the main plug to have power at the ignition switch, but once I did all was well. I'm considering eliminating the plug and just making physical connections for all those wires, particular the main power wire.
I'm going to do the headlight relay upgrade this weekend and get some ground straps installed. My electrical gremlins are eventually being chased away one at a time!
