Door Striker Plate Question
I was looking at the factory assembly manual last night. I saw what looks like two spacers that fit behind the striker plate. I didn't see those when I took mine off. Should there be some there and can they be bought without buying the striker plate?

Re: Door Striker Plate Question
Well, the spacers are needed on the '60-'63's but the design of the striker plate changed for '64. So, I am not entirely sure they are necessary on the '64-'66 models. I would say that if they weren't present when you took yours off then it's not something to worry about. You'll know for sure when you fit the doors.

Re: Door Striker Plate Question
The truck I am building did not have them, but my parts truck did. I had to use them on my passenger side when I fitted my new door. I believe they were used as needed during assembly from factory. Back in the day, not all doors and cabs matched like nowadays

Re: Door Striker Plate Question
Are you talking about the thin serated metal plates to help grip the body sheet metal to prevent the plate from slipping? If so they are not made by any company I know of. Many times they are not there cause they were removed previously and never replaced. They had them on most all the trucks that used that style plate.

Re: Door Striker Plate Question
Well, my metal plates have serrations(I suppose to hold them in place). I have to admit, I scraped a material off that was flattened out when I took them off. I thought it was more of a gasket.
