best way to clean roters
I am getting ready to put the frame together for my truck and want to know the best way to clean the roters. I planned to just sand blast them and put them back on. should I paint them, coat them what should I do?

Re: best way to clean roters
If you are trying to dress them up. You can clean them with a wire brush in the vanes, blow them out with air and paint them with high temp paint like VHT. Let them dry and cut a pass on them like N2TRUX said. That'll make them purdy. Good luck.

Re: best way to clean roters
Eastwood offers several different colors of paint that will look nice. I use a cast iron paint on mine. It gives it a freshly bead blasted look that looks great for a long time.
I paint everything then drive it using a light pedal pressure to clean the excess paint off of the rotors.

Re: best way to clean roters
i use that high heat paint that they sell in advanced auto parts in the aluminum color on the rotors and use some cheap spray paint for the calipers on my 08 STS and its held up pretty well and looks great. word of advice if your going to do the calipers red look for a color called "banner red" a regulare red isn't as bright.

im not sure if you can see it too good but it looks really good to me the aluminum color makes them look brand new, i have even been asked if i upgraded the brakes at the dealer, so that speaks for itself. |

Re: best way to clean roters
i taped mine off, sandblasted, primed, and painted mine with eastwoods. i took a dremel to the rough casting on the calipers until they were smoothed and painted those etch primer and w/ dupli color brake paint. turned out real nice. just take your time and you'll be amazed at how nice they turn out.
