454 swap from my k5 to my v6 c10

here are a couple of pics. i'm taking the 454/400 out of my 2wd k5 into and dropping it into my 85 v6 c10. i'm almost done, i just have a couple more things to do, the only problem is my driveshaft doesnt fit. i'll try to get some more pics of where it is at right know soon, but in the mean time here are the ones i have on my computer right know. i have to get it done asap though because thats my daily driver.

yeah for sure, i'm not taking to many pictures of the c10 i'm just trying to get it done as soon as possible and i'll be bringing it back to my house from my sisters, so i'll have it outside if i want to take pics of anything. i'll be taking my time with the k5 and try to take pics of everything.

Re: 454 swap from my k5 to my v6 c10

i forgot to mention that one of the header bolts was broken inside the head, i never noticed because i parked the truck as soon as i bought it and when i would turn it on i heard a leak but i always thought it was from the collector. anyway would i be able to take it out with a screw extractor?

here are some more pics of the truck. i haven't done much to it in a while but i just got a complete interior that i'm gonna put into it including ac and power doors.

in this picture you can see a pretty big gap between the door and the cab, i cant figure out to get this closer. the rest of the door lines up pretty good

You need to loosen the bolts on the door side of the top hinge and push to door in. you will probably have to loosen the bottom bolts a little. leave them tight enough so the door won't move on its own.

Re: 454 swap from my k5 to my v6 c10

i had a little time to play with my truck today. this is what i did, cut the hole for the wires and mount the right side door. the gaps look better on this side then the drivers side, and thats with out any adjustment. i just threw them on but i used the hinges from the donor, so i might take the drivers side door off again and use the donor hinges this time.
