Re: lowering blocks question
rain man, there's all kinds of info here on lowering these trucks. Just do a search for lowering and you'll find dozens of ideas. Most of us either use Jeep rear coils or I've used 70's Chevelle rear springs. But, there are dozens of options, just take the time to search here.

Re: lowering blocks question
Heat is bad. Takes the temper out of the springs.

Re: lowering blocks question
Well its cut and dry.. You can only put the blocks in one place once the rear is is off the perch.
As doe heating.. Dont. its a bad ride and it makes them weak... How far down do you want to go?

Re: lowering blocks question
I don't have any pics, but I'd rather see you cut the coils with a cutoff wheel or sawzall. I used new springs from Early Classic. Heat (torch) will make them lose their temper and make them more vulnerable to breakage. Blocks will move the axle off of the truck arms and create more leverage front to rear when under acceleration or stopping. This could cause the U-Bolt to break. I don't know about the Jeep springs, but I've heard they work. I just don't know about how much they lower the truck....jeff
