Exhaust manifold nearly hitting frame
I was looking at the engine in my new to me 72 GMC 4X4 and noticed the passenger side exhaust manifold was sitting only a 1/4 inch from the frame, the drivers side is about 1/2 inch way. I had my wife rev the engine to see if it moved or came in contact with the frame and it does not. How common is this? Should I change the motor mounts?
Thanks! Aaron |

Re: Exhaust manifold nearly hitting frame
If its not hitting anything I wouldnt worry about it. My BB headers have less room than that, but I havent ran it yet to see how much it moves with new engine mounts. If it does touch I will just clearance the frame a bit.
