Re: need opinions on rims
No.
Member Hickup Pickup has the inside track on these. Could be a month or two before they get revised. He has committed to update us when things are officially "fixed".

Re: need opinions on rims
On a side note,...
if you use the 1" rotors up front they will bolt on with only a little work to the grease cap. But this will require a spindle and caliper swap also.

Re: need opinions on rims
Ok. Thanks for the info. I've seen on a few sites (summit being one) that some of their 338's ship dates are pushed back to Feb 1, 2010. I was wondering if that is when the revised wheel will be available.
I need some information also. I have a 79 C10. What do I have to look for with back spacing and bolt pattern. I assume I have the 5x5 bolt pattern but I really am not sure. What exactly is back spacing and what do I need? Thanks |

Re: need opinions on rims
You truck is the 5x5 pattern.
The Boss 338's only come in certain sizes. What diameter rims are you looking for?

Re: need opinions on rims
im looking for 20's. The boss 338's are the only good looking 20's that i can fit into my price range. The other ones i was looking at that i may be able to afford are the coy c-5 and c-55 gun metal. i really like the polished torq thrust II 405 but they are just way too expensive.

Re: need opinions on rims
I think I understand that article. So, I would need a 5 inch back space for a 8.5 inch wide wheel?
thanks for posting those links. |

Re: need opinions on rims
Boss 338's and the Coys wheels come in a 20x8.5 (with 5.25" backspace)
These fit really good up front. Alot of things to consider: Amount of drop. Inner fenders installed or removed. Bags in your future? I suggest you read, read, and read more in the 73-87 section and the suspension section.

Re: need opinions on rims
Ok. So, in order to get the current design to fit the front, I need to change the rotor to a 1" rotor, 1" caliper, and 1" spindle? I read where someone installed a 1/4" spacer and longer lugs as well.
I dont plan on bagging it. Most likley it will end up with a 3/5 or 2/4 drop. Not sure about inner fenders. My purchase won't be anytime soon. At the earliest it will be late February, and hopefully the new design will be available. Well thanks for the help. PS: I read where you posted that you dont have DSL. Im also in that club. haha. still waiting on that too. |

Correct. The spacers and longer studs are for the 1.25" wide rotors. If you plan on lowering it,... I would do that first. Then buy wheels that "fit" your suspension.

Re: need opinions on rims
Yeah they should be out by Feb. I thought they were already supposed to be rolling them out by now.

Re: need opinions on rims
JohnC, are saying the redesigned wheels will be out by February? I've seen the ship out date on a few sites as Feb. 1, 2010. If thats true im a very happy person right now.
Thanks alot. |

Re: need opinions on rims
If you check the other thread, no one knows when the new ones will be out. It has been going on for months (at least 4)
if any one does order them, do as N2TRUX has said and test fit them before mounting the tires. Oh and make sure you can return them to where ever you got them.
