Will this fit?

I just called and the guy still has this so I'm going to go look at it tomorrrow, It's out of a '70 so it's a syncronized 3 speed.

I just want to make sure that this will fit in my truck with no modifications to the truck. I want a direct bolt in.

Re: Will this fit?

I have an 83 that would bolt right in. So yes the 70 should work.

Re: Will this fit?

WAIT UP!!!

for what application are we talking about here? 64-66 year trucks? if so, are we all sure that these 7 bolt side cover 3 speeds are a direct bolt in?

i was almost sure that they always needed some kind of adjustment made to them because of the location of the 7bolt side cover vs. the stock 4bolt side cover of the original 3 speeds.....

please clarify. if this can be confirmed, i have a really nice saginaw 3speed overdrive that i would throw into my 65 post haste.

I would try searching more, 1 post in there claims the shifter setup was different, I thought I saw something about the input shaft having finer splines or something... look into this further, it might not be 100% bolt in.
