Np203 to ?

I have a 1979 K10.

I have a 1981 Np208 off of a SM465 out of a 1981 K20.

Is there anyway to hook the Np208 in-place of my Np203, which is hooked to my TH350?

Is there a noticeable difference going from chain driven to gear driven? I know that I'll be losing a hundred pounds, and I'm not rough enough on things to really justify spending 200 dollars on a Np205 unless it would bolt up.

Re: Np203 to ?

I thought the NP208 started in 1987? Either way, I have it and it shifts way better than the older cast irno models, and weighs about 80lbs which is great for when you have to remove it yourself. I would imagine the tranny adapter will be different for the aluminum 208...
