Re: Think your ole rig goes through the snow, look
That is cool, according to the wikipedia article they produced a number of them and there is one in a museum in California. Article said the top speed was 8 miles per hour, but in the film it looked like it was going faster.

That old film always looked semi-fast motion,I think. But,the people don`t walk funny.Good quality filming for back then.Figure what cars did on dry roads and it`s not so slow.Back then anything beat walking.I wish I could find one.I`m glad at least one survived.

Re: Think your ole rig goes through the snow, look
Something about watching that thing is goofy and makes me 1/2 chuckle.I guess it`s seeing that thing tool along forward while those pontoons twirl side to side.It just looks goofy .Then,it`s the guy just has to where a hat and tie as well as a dress coat.He looks like he`s a business man on a tractor in the snow...hauling logs? And,he`s sittin`up like a judge the whole time :lol. This was serious bidnetz! I`d expect a welders cap with the brim turned up and coveralls.More like a grease monkey.Things were different and way more formal back then. How about that factory in the middle of nowhere bilging black smoke like there`s no tomorrow? No EPA.More like."Lets put the factory way out here so nobody can smell it."
I saved this classic video, for sure! I like your user name.I used to say,"HD,JD,and Chevy",cuz I was into all three. No D any more and it`s tuning more into HD,JD,and GMC" anyway.Plus JDs get way too much attention and I`m liking the other makes these days.I`ll mess it all up with Indian,Cockshutt, and Studebaker before it`s all over.Just doesn`t have that "ring" to it,though.

Pretty typical to see Henry Ford sitting up on top of a tractor, testing a three point hitch set up, with Harry Ferguson looking on. Both of them in suit and tie, hat firmly in place. Here are our intrepid adventurers (Edison, Burroughs, Ford) going "camping": Different world back then. It also occured to me they could actually DO something without getting interrupted 50 times by their cell phone, fax, beeper, secretary...etc.... K
