info needed from a cylinderhead
hi
i took the head of yesterday . the gasket is blown . and i took the gas tank out becurse it was smeling of petrol badly . the petrol tank was filld on the bottom with some patty stuff to close the rust holes . and as i was cleaning my head i fond some numbers on it . do there mean anything on top of the head inside next to the springs of the welfs ist says con9 and a nother number g239 outside i fond the number 3838846 and on the head wehre the gasket coms on it says 4112262-2 dos the numbers mean anything if yes wath thanks gregor by the way i no now wath it means daily driver . if the motor starts then its a daily driver by some people . |

3838846 = casting part number i couldn't find this number online but did find that the 3xxxxxx started in 1949, from 35-47 the number started with 8xxxxxxx.
g239 = looks like a date code g=7th month July; 23 day of the month; 9 could be the year (1939 or 49??). In later years last was a 1, 2 or 3 to designate the shift it was cast. Don't know what the others are might be plant or foundary designations. Sometimes if you look close there is a clock cast into them that shows the hour of the shift too.
