Six lug rear disk brake conversion ??
I spent a while going through all the threads I could find about disk brake conversion and I really couldn't find what I was looking for.
I'm going to the pull a part on Sunday and I'm wanting to know what parts I need to look at getting for the conversion. Is there a late model truck or something that already has disk brakes that I could just take everything off of? Thanks Nick + Forgot to say. I have a '71 4x4 1/2 ton

Re: Six lug rear disk brake conversion ??
rear end from a newer truck or tahoe but I think you need 16" or larger rims... or a CPP set would work.
depends on if you need an Ebrake or not.

Re: Six lug rear disk brake conversion ??
I'd like an e-brake but don't need one. I'm going to put the stock wheels back on when I get them refinished.

Re: Six lug rear disk brake conversion ??
I just searched CPP, and I'm wanting to keep the cost on the down low; or low down.

Re: Six lug rear disk brake conversion ??
I know its not going to be easy, but I still want to try.
I already have. They want $400-$550 for a set up.

Re: Six lug rear disk brake conversion ??
I was thinking about getting the front rotors of that body style truck. Then I was gonna go and start taking off calipers from other cars to see what would fit. What year of Caddi should I be looking at?

Re: Six lug rear disk brake conversion ??
should I get the prop valve from what ever vehicle I get the calipers from, if they are disk/disk?

Re: Six lug rear disk brake conversion ??
i used a wilwood prop valve and the rear discs from a 79 caddy deville, or seville.

Re: Six lug rear disk brake conversion ??
I will look into that. I found out from a local guy that works at the Napa that I go to that the front rotors and calipers from a square body will work, and he has a set of braskets that he'll let me trace so I can make a set. I'll let you guys know when I get them.
