Re: 72 rear end in a 65 3/4 ton

The panhard is the round bar that goes from the left side of the frame to the rear axle housing , on the 60-65 C10 and 60-72 C20 the axle end mount is a fabricated steel bracket, 66-72 C10 have the mount point forged into the diff pumpkin . so the bar is a bit different

Re: 72 rear end in a 65 3/4 ton

a 72 rear end would be 1.5" wider, no? I thought the width changed in 70. Something to keep in mind.

wider At the hub ,trailing arm mounts the same , should have common axle shafts to the 73-80ish 12 bolts , can put 4x4 axles in it you want 6 bolt

Re: 72 rear end in a 65 3/4 ton

I put a '71 rear in my '66 (coil spring - trailing arm). My friends say it crabs when it's going down the road. I used the '71 panhard rod. I think I may have to look into an adjustable.
