1973 C20 crewcab questions

Let's try this again.
I am looking at buying a '73 crewcab 3/4t that was converted to a dually. The vin plate had been removed for paint and body(?) I cannot see where the tag would mount. Can anyone post a pic of a crewcab of that era (even a suburban i guess might be the same?)that has the metal vin tag,and where. I want to make sure it's not a "custom built" '73 Thank You
-Lance

It should be in the drivers door jam.

Re: 1973 C20 crewcab questions

Thank You Thomas. That is what my '79 looks like also. I am starting to wonder if this is a "built" truck from others....not too sure if I want to deal with it.

Re: 1973 C20 crewcab questions

my '73 crew cab had the vin tag below the door striker on the driver side rear door area.

Re: 1973 C20 crewcab questions

the early trucks had stamped plates in the door jam a crew cab plate would be riveted to the jam of the back door drivers side just below the striker.
