Brake Line Help
Hi
I'm sure this has been brought up before? What do you guys recommend for replacing all the brake lines? Should I just order a pre bent kit or bend my own lines? I have never had much to do with brake lines before and don’t have the tools to do so.But if it makes sense to purchase tools I will. If you guys have any brand or links to what you recommend or have used. I would like to hear from you My truck is a 1971 GMC short box front disc rear drums Thanks

Re: Brake Line Help
If you dont have the tools and have not done it.... just order prebent. If you are always tinkering with projects and you want to learn how to do it... buy a quality handbender and double flare kit.

Re: Brake Line Help
Heres an article about installing a new master cylinder and bending brake lines. Yes it's a Ford, but it gives you an idea of what is involved. You will probably spend $150 or so on a good set of tools plus another $50 or more on tubing and fittings.
You can buy pre-bent tubing from in-line tubing, the right stuff detailing and I think CPP.

Re: Brake Line Help
I went with prebent lines from inlinetube. I got the stainless steel ones. They fit perfect and looked really nice.

Re: Brake Line Help
I bought a 72' kit to use with the stock crossmember before I got the dropmember. It fit perfect, then I had to do some rebending on some of the lines to work with the new setup. Its one of those things where you test it then bend it, then test again and bend it a little more till it worked.

Do you have any good shots of them installed? I'm getting ready to order the lines for my 64 & was considering the 71-72 route on this one.
