Dual piston brake upgrade
I received a few parts to upgrade my Jimmy. I'm installing dual piston calipers. The boneyard guy did not remove the knuckles. Parts are useless without the knuckles. I'm curious about the parts. They look like 4X4 parts but come from a 4X2 Blazer. Did GM make dual hub and bearing parts? Look at the pictures. The hubs are machined for axel shafts. You can see no shafts were in them.

Re: Dual piston brake upgrade
98 and newer 2wd blazers had the bolt in hubs like you have pictured
edit, after looking at those pictures i'm not sure what parts they gave you, they are not for an s-series though Last edited by 95 S_Trucker; 02-22-2010 at 09:19 AM. |

Re: Dual piston brake upgrade
I put a set on my '00 S10 that I had and they looked the same with the splines for an axle. I believe they use the same hubs for either 2/4wd. It has been awhile since I did that though. I also put the rear discs on it. That was a better upgrade IMO. It would stop from 60 in 126' according to my G-tech. It was a 4.3/auto ext cab. My friends 2.2/manual reg cab took 138'!
here is a thread where I did mine, in '03! http://www.s-seriesforum.com/forum/s...ighlight=bluex Rear brakes: http://www.s-seriesforum.com/forum/s...ighlight=bluex

Re: Dual piston brake upgrade
2wd and 4wd use different hub assemblies. the 2wd doesnt have the hole for the axle shaft. and on 4wd, the axle shaft and axle nut hold the bearings together
