anyone have door/window pics?

When I got my truck it was in piece so I have no clue how the doors/windows all go together.

I just realized that there is trim that runs around the permitter of the window, is this true?

To avoid any other surprises if yall could post pictures from assembling the doors/windows I'd appreciate it, thanks.

Re: anyone have door/window pics?

Inside trim? or the outside trim? My '49 Deluxe Cab has both. I never have removed the outer so I don't know how it goes on, but I can go take a pic of the inside if you need it.

Oh, you mean the metal that encases the door window?

Apparently not, probably because you have vent windows. Here is the pic I went and took, sorry for the quality it's pitch black outside and the iphone don't have a flash.

Re: anyone have door/window pics?

I think thats it. I know there is the piece that bolts to the inside of the door, and the piece that clips on the outside of the window opening. Im talking about the metal that attaches to the window itself.

Does this exist on a 51-54?

Sorry I edited the last post. No I don't think it does, because you have vent windows.

Yeah, but you'd miss out on all the fun stuff like extra parts and not enough screws.

By the way, your truck looks amazing.

Re: anyone have door/window pics?

Cajun-

I wanted smooth glass, so I removed the metal trim that you are speaking of. Bad news for you I didn't keep it. You could just change to a different C channel and not worry about the metal trim. I have a source for this channel that will hold 1/4 thick glass. The glass is 1/4" thick if you remove the metal trim.

Let me know, if you are intrested and I can look up the buisness card when I get home.

I know that the metal channel in the door is incased in felt/rubber, Im asking about the glass itself, is it incased in a metal perimeter?

Cajun

The metal around the glass is just a frame. There are two small screws that attach the metal frame to the bottom metal base of the window. I removed mine so that I could go with the new smooth glass. Then since my glass was now 1/4 thick I needed to get the different felt to make up the difference since I removed the metal trim. In other words the factory felt from Steele products was too wide.

Here is the info:
Harding Automotive
1069 Reinhart Rd.
Loogootee, IN 47553

812 295-3544 cell 218 425-4247

His name is Harry. Tell him that you need glass channel for 1/4 thick glass. I bought them from him at a swap meet. I don't recall the price but I didn't care since he had what I needed.

Thats all I got..........

Re: anyone have door/window pics?

I don't think ya'll are speaking the same language cajun.

Like I said before, I don't think the vent window door glass had the metal frame. I'm sure there are some guys on here that can answer better than I can.

Edit: I have yet to find a picture of one with the frame on it, here on this forum. I really don't think it came that way. I think your windows are correct and mine are correct for my year model. Wing window glass didn't have it that I can find.

No, I did not have a vent window. I had one piece side glass that had metal trim around the glass.

Re: anyone have door/window pics?

The 47-50 glass has the steel frame on it that is held onto the regulator part by some screws. The felt channel is wide, like 1/2" to account for this frame.

In '51 they put vent windows in, cut the felt channel down, and ditched the metal surround so a door with a vent window has just glass and like 1/4" felt. Most swap meets will have a guy selling the felt by the length.
