new and old wheels question

so has anyone ever used newer gm 6 lug rims on a 60-66 truck will it work is the lug pattern different?
if possible post some pics

I tried to put the stock aluminum wheels off of my 97 GMC 4X on my 64 c-10,It didnt work. The lug pattern was the same but the center bore was wrong. Too small I think?? Its been a year or so, my memory only works for abouy 4 minuits at a time.

The wheel pattern is the same......6x5.5'' (139.7mm). As previously mentioned, the centerbore is the issue if still running drums. I updated to disc and my aftermarket 6-lug wheels fit up front but hit the axle flange in the rear. I still ran them with a small spacer and beveled the flange. I also used lugs that had a 60* conical seat with a shank.

The other issue is backspacing as the newer wheels are quite deep and may cause interference on the inside. I'm not familiar with factory wheels, only aftermarket for newer trucks.

i want something different for the 61 but dont want to convert to disk quite yet is there anything out there that looks good and dosent cost an arm and leg?
the wheels i have now are rusted pretty good they look like s*it

Do a search for six lug modular wheels. i got a fairly new set for 70 bucks here in texas a couple months ago.

Hey Rain man check out craigslist there are lots of wheels-Tires some mounted up. Toyota 6 lug wheels will fit a chevy check some of them out. A few weeks ago i bought some off a Toyota chrome spoke wheels w/ T A radials w/ 50% tread for $80 had some surface rust cleaned up nice w/fine steel wool & wd-40

Yea, I'd like to see pics also. A buddy of mine bought a 74 4x4 that had stock Toyota wheels on the rear. Those wheels had a serious backspacing and just looked ridiculous on that full size truck. The truck looked like it was tubbed with shortened axle and stock wheels on it. They sat way back in the wheel well.

I used rally's with newer center caps. I added a thin trim ring that is in my build thread.

ill use just about anything as long as they look better then what i got on there now

The 6 lug rallys go for about $50 each here in Arizona. I have been gathering all types of them for the trucks and cars. a full set of 5 lugs go for $300 in any shape with caps and rings. Crazy.
I dont reccomend using late model 6 lugs because the center just doesnt fit. I have random 05 and up on my 64 right now just to roll it around. The front had to be torched out to clear the center and the off set on the back is ugly. Not only that the rear centers dont match up. It is clear that you want to use the center part of your wheels to keep the wheels mounted to your truck and not just rely on the studs to take the impact. Could break the the studs and leave ya grinding into the ditch!
the first pic is how i had to cut the front out. The second pic is the offset and how close it is to the wheel tub. Sorry the pics arent clear, i ran out with my phone just to show ya.

The 6 lug rallys are in that price range in the north west but sometimes you may run across them reasonable cause they just don't know what they have.
5 lug are more available and the prices goes up & down if they are corvette or a special chevrolet, otherwise 5 lugs are cheaper. I bought a set of 6 lug rallys from a guy on craigslist they were already sand blasted they had a little surface rust so I got them for $60 w/caps & rings the caps cleaned up real nice and they were real metal, a good find to say the least. I had them powder coated & put new stickers on the caps....Vernski
