Thanks guys! I hate to buy stuff just to find it doesn't work.

I probably could have asked this in my initial question but I didn't think about it at the time. Staying with a 16" rim (very likely the above mentioned 16 X 6.5) what is the widest tire that could be used and not rub anything?

Also, what about using a shim/spacer so that they are not so "tucked in"?
