Re: True or False???? Explain Please
True, you have to extend your driveshaft.False,I don`t know of any shaft from another truck. My last`72 needed 2" with a 6" lift.I`m preparing to do another, but I won`t just go and get the shaft made 2" longer.I feel better getting it back on all fours and measure. It`s not rocket science,I just have bad luck with tryin`to make things easier. One step ahead at a time never fails.

Re: True or False???? Explain Please
I agree. You should get 'er on the ground and measure.
It is possible to source junkyard driveshafts in lots of different combinations you might could piece together what you wanted. crew cab, suburban, blazer, regular cab, long bed, short bed, slip yoke front, fixed front, NP208, NP 231, NP 205, NP 203, 1310, 1330, 1350 u-joints. Each one of these is a little different so you might find a combination that would work. But how much time do you have? And how many 4x4's are in a junkyard near you? Put it on the ground, measure, and order a new one IMO. My original shaft was whacked. Splines worn, yokes worn, possibly bent. It made it 300k miles, but it was time.

I measured one up onetime and took all the details in to the shop; they sent me home to re-measure it their way! They'll tell ya how they want it done - K

Yup, you all need to be on the same page when measuring. I have purchased shafts mail order from Six States Distributors, Tom Woods, and Wenco. I know we have at least two driveshaft shops around Austin, so pick your poison.
