Re: My newest find, questions and thoughts
I would really love to hear people's thoughts on what this truck is worth. The seller is asking $25,000 and says the last last owner before him had $18,000 into it and then died, so they took it on and painted, etc, to finish the truck.
My biggest fear is if I pass on -this- shortbox, 4x4 1972 Sierra Grande, how long till the next one? I would LOVE to hear what people think this truck is worth. I would probably take it and do a cosmetic restoration of the interior, etc, to make it look a little fresher. Here's a set of pros and cons: PRO: - It's a 1972 Sierra Grande Shortbox 4x4, the first and only I've found - It's black - It has the buckets and console I've seen offered for $3K on their own - It's a four speed (could be a CON, but its noteworthy) - It has AC, though there's no belt on it CON: - There is no SPID, no documentation (other than VIN) of how originally equipped. It's a Fremont car so no GM Vintage Vehicles of Canada to the rescue on this one... - I doubt its the original engine, though I don't know - Alaska is a long way to ship, and too far to drive, even to Seattle (and maybe border hassles) Your sage-like wisdom would be greatly appreciated!
